Princess Diana Poster
This was produced just after her death. I commissioned a heartfelt black artist named Victor. I never knew his real name. He was English and I think his family came from Ghana. I met him in a shopping centre in London. He would sit and paint portraits with a smile. We got chatting away. He was really excited about seeing the beauty of the People’s Princess in pastel. So here you see a litho print image of the original. We have limited copies available.
Yet two more artists were involved in this project. You will notice a short poem beside the portrait. I had Lester Queripel a poet from Guernsey in the Channel Islands staying with me at the time. He wrote it having sensed the feeling of the nation at that time.
My resident artist Eugene Johnson did the calligraphy writing.
